Associate of Arts The completion of an Associate of Arts (AA) degree at Zane State College equips students to transfer to a four-year college or university to pursue a baccalaureate degree. A minimum of 90 credit hours is required to receive an AA. Students focus on general education courses in the areas of English and oral communication, mathematics, natural science, arts and humanities, and social and behavioral sciences. An emphasis is placed on Ohio’s Transfer Module requirements, which enable students to maximize transferability between Zane State College and other colleges and universities in Ohio. To complete the degree, students choose electives from among the wide range of courses offered at Zane State. Areas of concentration are in development. Students are encouraged to discuss their goals with an advisor early on to work together to develop a plan of study in order to meet the requirements of the college or university to which the student plans to transfer. Zane State College’s programs provide students with the opportunity to earn an associate’s degree while participating in experienced-based learning in a chosen field. The degrees are specifically designed to prepare students to immediately enter the job market. With the new transfer degrees, you will concentrate on the introductory classes—or the first two years—of your bachelor’s degree.
