Admissions Procedures
Preparing for and applying to college can be a difficult and confusing experience; however, at Zane State we make every effort to ensure that our students are comfortable with the process and find the experience an enjoyable one. The following steps will assist you through the application process.
I. Meet with an Admissions Office Representative
- Learn about Zane State College.
- Receive information about programs you are considering.
An Admissions Office Representative Can:
- Assist with application forms.
- Provide a tour of campus.
- Discuss enrollment procedures for your program.

II. Complete and submit an Admissions Application
- Applications can be picked up in the Admissions Office, mailed to your home, or downloaded online.
- The $25.00 application fee must be submitted before the admissions process can take place.

III. Meet with a Financial Aid Representative
- Approximately 75 percent of all Zane State College students receive aid in the form of loans, grants, and scholarships.
- A meeting with our financial aid representatives will provide a clearer understanding of the possibilities.

IV. Self-Assessment
- Conduct a personal self-assessment to determine potential career plans.
- A career plan will allow you to choose the Zane State College program beneficial to reaching your career goals.
- If you would like assistance, the Career and Employment Services Office can help you determine the professions for which you are best suited.

V. Complete the Accuplacer
- Accuplacer is used to assess placement in reading, writing, mathematics, and algebra.
- This assessment is required of first-time students.

VI. Schedule Courses
- For your first quarter an academic advisor will register you for Group Registration.
- During Group Registration an academic advisor will assist you in choosing the courses best suited to your career goals.
